Raw Honey contains antioxidants and antibacterial properties that help keep cough in control. It makes honey an effective cough syrup.

The Homemade “Honey cough syrup” is fairly common in many countries. Here I have compiled a handful of honey remedies for cough.

What does the study say?

Several studies reveal that Honey may be better than over the counter medicines because there is no threat of side effects.

For example, one of the studies found that one tablespoon of pure Honey given to children (must be above 1 year old) before going to bed had a positive effect in controlling cough among children.

However, more studies are needed to find out its benefits for cough.
